Fresh Pasta Recipe

This recipe has been a favorite ever since the first time I made it. It’s all the delicious richness of lasagna but sized for one person. Perfect for those of us who never have 8-12 people to dinner to eat a whole tray of lasagna, or anyone who does have 8-12 guests with 8-12 different food preferences. As a party host it’s also nice to set a perfect ramekin on everyone’s plate instead of trying to serve delicate squares of a saucy pasta landslide. Click here for the recipe & photo tutorial . . .

Mayonnaise Recipe and Photo Tutorial

Homemade mayonnaise is sort of a right of passage for people setting out to cook for real. It’s surprisingly rewarding the first time you get an emulsion started, and I love being able to make a mayonnaise that doesn’t have any soy or high fructose corn syrup, and has much less sodium and sugar than the packaged stuff tends to. Lemon and Cream Cheese Layered Cake Recipe

This recipe walks the line between being a fresh lemon flavored cake and a tangy cheesecake. The layers are baked together so when it comes out of the oven all that’s left to do is to chill it and dust it with a little powdered sugar. Click here for the recipe & photo tutorial . . .

Parmesan Crusted Flounder With Baked Matchstick Potatoes Recipe

This meal is a sort of a fresh variation on fish and chips. The flavors work together in the same way, but because this is baked instead of fried it creates an opportunity for spices and cheese to become the focal point. The flounder is tender but with a crispy crust, and the potatoes are baked in milk, butter and spices so they have everything that makes mashed potatoes taste great but with a texture more like a baked potato.
